If you want to know the standards of someone, try to know about who they look up to." - Anonymous

The world is advancing at alarming rate and if care is not taken, we would be surprised that those who hold the sway of this generation, controlling the majority of human affairs by influencing what happens and who gets what, are those that will keep dominating.

I know you would be tempted to ask me why I made such conclusion. But my conclusion is made because one of the secrets of extraordinary people is the kinds of persons they look up to - their mentors and coaches - and to a greater extent, you too, can be influenced by these sets of people.

Is not it true that ideas rule the world? However, no matter how novel and innovative your ideas are, it will be difficult to navigate the paths associated with it, the storms that come with it, if you don't have the right mentors/coaches. That's why John C. Maxwell says, "Any idea gets better when the right people get a chance to add to it and improve it."

Do you now see that you need the right mentors/coaches? There’s a difference between a mentor and a coach. A mentor does not charge you. He or she offers you free service by giving our free contents like articles, videos, programs etc; but if you need a coach, it comes with a price because a coach will show you the strength way. With mentors, you look up to them. They might know or not know you. You may have access to them or may not have access to them. But you’ll definitely have access to your coaches because they’ll be committed to your success or project. So, it’s imperatively important, you ask yourself, do you need a coach or mentor?

Let me share more insights with you on why you need mentors/coaches:

1. Mentors/Coaches teach and guide you:Because no one is an island, everyone needs to walk around the people who have already acquired the expertise, skills and experience you are about to have. In the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," Steven R. Covey explains how effective people use "interdependence" to attract success and when you operate at interdependent level, you will learn and be exposed to the dynamic strategies of getting things done.

2. Mentors/Coaches offer you psychological counseling: Psychologists have proven that more than 80 percent of the human tend to expect positive outcome and that's why when the opposite happens, it becomes difficult for us to cope with the challenges. This is where the need for coaches/mentors arises. When you are distressed or challenged, mentors/coaches will talk to you to comfort you and offer you solace.

3. Mentors/Coaches offer you emotional support: No matter how strong we are, we always have times when things won't work out ways and may cause emotional distressed and tension. During these times, what we need is more than sympathy. We need someone who will be empathetic with us; someone who don't just think about how we feel, but feel the same as we feel and lift us to perform at our best every time.

4. Mentors/Coaches sponsor you: It is obvious that having a vision for your life is not only what you need to fulfill your potential; you will always need people who will share opportunities with you, show you the way to the doors and lead you walk through the doors.

There are many more reasons having mentors/coaches can help you. I just share the insights above with you to reveal how transformational you can become by committing yourself to rising through the shoulders of giants. “The more we push ourselves beyond our perceived limits, the more we expand our belief in ourselves."If you need a coach Henry Ukazu is here to guide you, but the training comes with a price.
